Make SEO and social work together

There are plenty of marketing strategies you can use to increase your local search optimization, two of the most important being present on social media websites and consistently posting informative blog content for your potential consumers. These two strategies don't have to function separately; in fact, making these two methods work together can ensure you reach a wide audience, help you rank higher in search results and keep engagement strong.

Search engines are beginning to take social media presence into account when displaying results for those conducting a search. Therefore, it's more important than ever to ensure you have a blog that achieves strong rankings as well as active pages on Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter and any other social networking sites you think critical to your success.

The basics
The first thing you need to do when making social media presence and blog content work together is ensure you have an active presence on both your networking profiles and your blog. Schedule regular updates for your social media posts and have a certain number of blog posts slated to go up on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Whether you're posting for Facebook, Twitter or your business blog, ensure you use the best SEO practices. Use keywords plentifully, practice good linking habits, post frequently and be certain your content is unique.

If you're on Twitter, consider modifying your keywords slightly to fit in with trending topics. Although you may think this will hinder your SEO strategy, it may be more useful to use a popular keyword and receive more attention than stick with your regular terms and get less recognition.

Combining the strategies
Whenever you publish a new post on your blog, you'll need to promote it on your social media profiles and link to the piece - this will take users right to your blog when they click the link. It's also useful to add social sharing buttons to the bottom of each post to allow readers to easily share content they find interesting with their Facebook friends or Twitter followers.

It's also important to use keywords anywhere possible on your social profiles, whether in an information box, photo captions or descriptions. Don't forget to post a link to your blog on all of your profiles to ensure as many of your followers as possible have access to your website.
