1. 78% of local-mobile searches result in offline purchases.

We're heading towards a mobile-only culture and most consumers turn to their phones to find local businesses within five miles of their location.

And, since 78 percent of those customers have an intent to purchase, you need to make sure your website is mobile-friendly and accessible whenever your customers are on-the-go.

2. 70% of customers will leave a review if you ask them!

Did you know that 97 percent of consumers will read an online review of a business before considering making a purchase?

If your business is lacking reviews, simply ask and remind your customers after their purchase to leave you an online review. Just make sure that you don't solicit positive reviews; your customers need to be given the chance to leave any feedback, positive or negative.

3. 41% of clicks in search results go to the top three paid ads.

Paid advertising can help your business reach more customers by targeting the exact audience you want to see your ads, and when a customer searches for businesses like yours, 41 percent will automatically choose the top three paid ads.

Consumers who click on paid ads are also 50 percent more likely to purchase than an organic search visitor, so you may want to consider a paid advertising plan.

4. There's a limit to how much you should post to your social media channels:

  • Facebook = 1 post daily or 5 posts weekly
  • Twitter = 3-5 tweets a day
  • LinkedIn: 1 post a day
  • Instagram: 1 photo a day

5. Here are three types of video to share:

It's projected that 80 percent of all online traffic at the end of 2018 will be from videos, so if you haven't thought about your video marketing strategy, now's the time. Here's what you can share to build better engagement with customers through videos:

  • Educational videos
  • Entertainment videos
  • Live videos (such as Facebook Live)
