According to recent data from WANTED Analytics, more than 6,000 job ads have been posted for mobile marketers in the United States over the past 90 days - a 26 percent year-over-year growth compared to the same 90-day period in 2011.Hiring in the field has also grown by 134 percent since 2010, and a whopping 400 percent since 2009.
Predictably, the rise in mobile usage and smartphone speed has spurred the need for professionals with skills such as SEO, search engine marketing, Android OS, web analytics, Google analytics and Software as a Service (SaaS).
If you're a mobile marketer in New York, you probably have the best chance of getting hired, as more than 1,000 ads have been placed in the state over the past 90 days - up 31 percent from the same time period in 2011.
However, The Hiring Scale found that in general, demand for people with mobile marketing skills is outpacing the talent pool of qualified applicants. As such, recruiters generally keep ads online for an average of six weeks, providing ample time to create a large enough group of potential candidates.
