By now, you know having an easy-to-navigate mobile website is an important component of your local search optimization strategy, as more and more people are using smartphones and tablets to search the web. While your site may need to be optimized for local SEO in order to attract those scouring the internet for information, it needs to load quickly in order to keep them on the page and reading your information.
Search Engine Journal reported on a survey by Keynote Systems that found two-thirds of smartphone users claim slow-loading webpages are one of their biggest frustrations. Sixty-four percent of users want the pages they click to load within four seconds, and 60 percent hope those pages will load within less than three seconds.
With lightning speeds expected by consumers, you'll need to ensure your site is optimized for the fastest experience possible. Get rid of any Flash elements or large files on your pages, as they can slow down the web experience and cause mobile users to exit your page too quickly. You'll also want to make sure the page is easily navigable by a small device such as a phone screen - if it's not, it could take quite a bit of time to load and diminish the user experience.
