Why Having SEO Goals for Your Business is Important

As a business owner, you have a lot of expectations for the marketing company you pair with. The biggest thing we hear from many of our clients is that they want their company at the top of Google... now.

Unfortunately, this is not a feasible thing. First, the page has to be optimized to search engine strategies. And then the search engines have to find the website through their automated "page crawlers". And then your klout score has to rise.

Get what we mean? It's a little more complicated than most business owners think.

Why Having Attainable Goals is So Important

It is perfectly easy to make statements of things you would like to happen for your website. However, not everything is always possible. While having goals is incredibly important, it is also vital that you set realistic expectations of how your local internet marketing plan will happen.

Ranking by tomorrow, going viral on Facebook, and becoming the most important business of your type in your area probably are a bit too ambitious. Ranking on Google's first few pages within a few weeks or increasing your website reach by 1,000 visitors over a couple months is a good place to start.

(Plus, think of how happy you will be if something causes these goals to be exceeded! Bonus!)

This is why having attainable SEO goals from the start is one of the most important things you can do for the local internet marketing process. By taking the time to ask questions, understand what is (and is not) possible, and work directly with us as your marketing partner, you are helping your business in the long run.
