Following up on its recently added follow button for companies, LinkedIn has revealed two other functions to help expand its use, Business Insider reports.
As a business, you may want to segment your followers by certain variables, such as industry, seniority, job function, company size or geography. You can now perform such a task with the "targeted updates" feature.
"Marketers will be able to create hyper-focused follower lists … to which they can deliver highly relevant content to increase engagement," LinkedIn states, as quoted by MarketingLand.
The functionality will also allow you to send different status updates to different groups of followers.
Secondly, many local internet marketing professionals love analytics, since it's an effective way to determine return on investment. The "follower statistics" function creates an analytics dashboard for your company to determine the effectiveness of your status updates, with the ability to track likes, shares, comments, percentage engagement and follower demographic information.
Business Insider notes that the new product will be rolled out to a select few companies at first, including AT&T, Samsung Mobile, Dell and Microsoft - so you're out of luck if you don't work for those businesses. LinkedIn plans a systemwide rollout in the next few months.
