Being visible on Google's local search results can propel a business from unknown to well-known. The search engine giant continues to add features to its Maps and Places applications in order to better organize reviews and optimize location-based search results.
Google recently added the option to provide a "Best Ever" rating to a restaurant or service, according to Marketing Pilgrim. This distinction can impress a prospective customer reading reviews and may improve SEO rankings as well.
Local search marketing company RevLocal provides additional ways to get a restaurant noticed with its local internet marketing tools. Recently, Parkside Restaurant and Tavern in Mount Vernon, Ohio, utilized RevLocal's services to increase traffic and business.
Parkside's Google Places Page and YouTube videos were optimized and structured reviews were encouraged. As a result, the restaurant saw its traffic increase rapidly, breaking its all-time sales record for the month of June.
"RevLocal's service elevated our Place Page to number two for keyword search 'Restaurant' and No. 1 for the term 'Bar,' said general manager Steve McCurdy. The increase in customers may lead to some "Best Ever" rankings by reviewers.
