No, it's not a "dislike" button.
However, TechCrunch recently reported that Facebook intends to announce the addition of three new emotional buttons to more effectively "surface personal content."
Facebook users may soon be able to click "Read," "Listened" and "Watched" buttons on content in their news feeds. The news source adds that the inclusion of a "Want" button isn't too far behind.
As a result, ad targeting will become more important for merchants as brands, retailers, entertainment companies and other businesses will be able to leverage user response data to create a more personalized experience.
The media outlet adds that it's still unclear how the new buttons will affect the "Like" button, if at all, but they will likely add more "depth to content surfaced by media sharing apps" and retailers.
Facebook plans to make the announcement at its f8 developer meeting on Thursday. The Daily Beast points out that the company may already be hinting at the button's inclusion, as its motto for f8 is "Read. Watch. Listen."
