Google has recently added City Pages, a new function that assembles its Places Pages, Offers, Mobile, Events and promotions for local business owners in one concentrated application.
So far, the company has only integrated the option for a few major cities - Austin, New York, Portland and San Diego. It essentially provides an alphabetical directory of local businesses, according to Search Engine Land.
Search Engine Watch notes that additional features include a community page that gives region-specific announcements from the Google Places team, a control panel that compiles resources and local advertising options for local business owners, and daily deals and discounts from the Google Offers service.
"Our goal for each of these campaigns was to celebrate the strong local business communities thriving in each of these cities," Cecelia Stewart of Google's local marketing team explains to WebProNews.
Stewart adds that the City Page can be used as a one-stop shop to find out how to manage a company's presence on Google. The pages also have video testimonials from small business owners using Places.
