There are a variety of strategies to a company can implement to improve SEO and drive more traffic to their website.
For example, embedding social media buttons on a company's website is an effective way to drastically expand the way a consumer can connect and gain information, according to Econsultancy, Malcolm Coles, director of ad agency Digital Sparkle, tells the news source that adding the ability to "like," or tweet during actions such as purchasing a product or watching a video can dramatically increase SEO.
"It is shocking how few SEO companies actually do local and product optimization, especially local search," Lisa Myers, CEO of marketing agency Verve Search, told the news source. She points out that Google Places dominates the search engine results page, with 20 percent of all Google search queries being related to local search.
In addition, she adds that business owners should not be discouraged by the sometimes difficult verification process of Google Places. According to the search engine's website, business owners can verify a new listing via telephone or mail, and in most cases, will become visible within 12 hours of approval.
